In the spring of 2020, we conducted a satisfaction survey with over 1700 users of the MicroScope platform. With this survey we wanted to know more about the profile of our user community and their use of the platform for their current/future projects.
You can find some statistics on the responses to this survey here.
The feedback we received has been very useful and helped us prioritize some upcomings developments. We notably have already worked on the computation time for service delivery of genome analysis as well as the speed of some webpages. We also worked on the enhancement of the genome selector.
You will very soon enjoy our new genome carts that will allow you to make several lists of favorite genomes ready to use in the different comparative genomic tools. New functionalities dedicated to prophage and defense island prediction will be made available in 2022.
This survey was also a way for us to anticipate future needs in data analysis. It turns out that several groups are going to carry out analyses on several tens or even hundreds of genomes. The processing of this data implies the implementation of new analysis methods but also represents a challenge in terms of data storage. This is why we are asking for your help to support the future development of the platform.
We thank again the people who took the time to complete this survey.
